Geoscience Australia's Maritime Boundaries Unit provides technical advice to government agencies on the determination of maritime jurisdictional boundaries. This map (PDF 14.5Mb) depicts the various jurisdictional limits and zones which exist within Australia's maritime jurisdiction. For the purpose of this map, and pending the completion of maritime boundary negotiations, some areas of Australia's EEZ have been drawn back to the point of equidistance between neighbouring countries.

Mapping services for the Australian Government Solicitor in relation to Native Title Claims where claims extend over coastal waters. The 1998 Croker Island Case in the Federal Court is an important example of this work. The map left (PDF 69Kb) forms Schedule 2, "The Commonwealth Map", of the recent Federal Court Determination.
