Filming tips
It's a good idea to write a script and shooting plan before you start.
Visual
- Use a tripod wherever possible to reduce camera shake and improve the quality of your footage.
- Get physically close to your subject; don't just rely on the zoom. This also will help to improve the sound quality.
- If you use the zoom function on your camera, zoom in slowly.
- Film more than just your subject. An example of this is to illustrate with the camera what the narrator is talking about.
- Ensure that your lighting is correct. Try to locate a light source above the subject.
Audio
- Be aware of your surroundings and reduce unwanted background noise and voices.
- Use a directional microphone instead of an omnidirectional microphone for sound.
